Position Description: Driving Instructor (Full-time).
Reports to: School Manager
Location: focused on servicing the Kendall area and immediate surrounding areas in the SW and SE of Miami Dade county. (company will provide a dual-controlled vehicle and cell phone to fulfill all duties).
Summary of essential job functions
- Follow company training program with each student according to their driving skill level.
- Practical instruction shall include the demonstration of all driving maneuvers required to be a safe driver and pass the state driving exam.
- Confirm, before each driving lesson, that the student is carrying a valid learner's permit or restricted license.
- Instructor will not allow any other person in the car for the driving lesson, other than the student.
- Be on time for all assigned appointments to ensure students receive the agreed number of hours of behind the wheel instruction.
- May be required to document mileage for each lesson.
- Carry a State of Florida Drivers license at all times.
- Agree to follow all State of Florida traffic laws.
- Complete a lesson report for each student for recording purposes and electronically submit all lesson reports at the end of each day.
- Comply with all standards of conduct/work rules.
- Maintain company car in clean and adequate condition for a pleasant student experience (supplies provided by the school)
- Administrative work as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum age of twenty-one (21). Possess a High School Diploma or GED, while College Degree is preferred.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
- Possess a valid Florida Driver License.
- A driving record that does not include more than three (3) chargeable accidents or violations during any consecutive three (3) year period.
- No driver's license suspensions for any reason within three (3) years prior to application.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- No addictions to alcoholic beverages or others drugs.
- No convictions, forfeited a bond, plead guilty, or plead nolo contendere to a felony. (Criminal background check is required by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles “FLHSMV” conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement “FDLE” ).
Abilities Required:
- May require lifting up some weight (cones for parking lessons).
- Requires knowledge and dexterity to operate emails and other important means of communication with a smart phone.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
- Interaction primarily with students and/or their parents.
Salary:
- $30K-$35K per year plus bonuses tied to performance.
